This week was a busy one! I feel like we got through a lot of content and had a lot of time to practice many of our new skills. This is such a fun group to work with! I can't believe there are only two more weeks until Fall Break! Thank you to the parents who have already signed up for conferences. There are only a few who haven't so please make sure you do as soon as possible. I also have already had a few parents let me know they were interested in chaperoning our November field trip! Woohoo! If you are interested please make sure in addition to having your fingerprint clearance card, you fill out a volunteer form for the district. I want to make sure all the parents who want to attend are able to!

Have a great weekend,
I hope you all enjoy your four day weekend! These kids deserve some rest and relaxation, they are such hard workers! Next Wednesday the kids will be taking a writing assessment. We will start at 8:15 and the kids will be responsible for making their own thinking map, writing a rough draft, and a final copy. We will take this assessment at the beginning and end of the year to measure progress in writing. Please make sure they are on time Wednesday morning and have had a hearty breakfast. We will take a break in between sessions to get some fresh air! This week we had some fun subtraction bowling! Here are some cute pictures I took!
Reading: We will not have Walk to Read Wednesday due to the writing assessment. My Walk to Read class will continue to read Curious George Goes to School and will review short vowel a, i, and o.
Writing: We will have the district assignment on Wednesday. Our smaller focus throughout the week will be writing complete sentences.
Math: We will start fact families or related facts.
Science: We will finish our weather unit by doing a fun art project to show the four seasons.
Have a wonderful weekend! See you Tuesday!
