Happy Halloweekend! I hope you all have a fun, safe Halloween tomorrow night! This week we had fun learning all about spiders and writing spider reports. The kids worked SO hard! Their reports and spider art turned out amazing and they were very proud of themselves. Here are a few proud students and their projects... How cute are those??? Sorry I didn't get everyone's pictures but some were working hard right until clean up time!
Field Trip Everyone turned in their permission slip for our field trip on Wednesday! Woohoo! Please remember to pack a sack lunch and have your child wear comfortable shoes. Also, if you have a Rover Ram shirt, wear it that day. Adults who are chaperoning, I have talked with most of you but please remember if you want to volunteer you HAVE to turn the volunteer form in as soon as possible. Unfortunately if you are not on the list you will not be able to attend and I want to make sure everyone who wants to join is able to. Next Week Reading: We will be reading the biography of Dr. Seuss and focusing on informational text features. Our phonics skill will be short vowel e. Math: We will finish up finding the missing addend in an equation and then will begin a unit of measurement. Writing: We will start a descriptive writing piece next week. I really want the kids to start adding adjectives and their own personal style to their writing pieces! Social Studies: We will be starting a big timeline project showing the history of the United States of America. This is one of my favorite projects that we do! With it we will some fun activities to get ready for Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful weekend, I can't wait to hear all about it on Monday! -Miss Turco :)

Happy Friday! It has been a fun, busy week! The Fall Festival is TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30, come with your costumes on! Our class basket turned out fabulous! A huge thanks to Dana Ellett for working so hard on collecting items and putting the basket together. Thank you so much to all the families who made contributions, every bit helped! I am excited to see what lucky family goes home with it tonight! On Monday we will be doing another writing assessment. We will take it in two sessions. First the students will create their thinking map and write their rough draft, then we will take a break and finish with our final copy. These days can be stressful so please make sure your child is on time and has a hearty breakfast. Our next writing assessment will not be until the end of the year, so this is out last one for awhile! I snapped a few cute pictures today out on the playground and inside doing a bat activity for Science. Next Week
