I hope you are having a great week! We were busy bees this week and got a lot of work done! In reading we learned all about different animal groups. In math we did review centers and focused on 2-D shapes, missing addend, time to the hour and half hour, and addition/subtraction. I think the kids enjoyed working with hands on manipulatives, and it was great practice! Please remember we do not have school Monday, January 18th, in observance of MLK.
Here are some pictures from our math centers, and oil pastel art project we did today!
Reading: We will be reading the story, Let's Go To The Moon. We will be learning about informational text features. Our phonics skill will be long vowel o.
Writing: We will be integrating Social Studies and Writing this week! We will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and will be completing a writing project.
Math: We will be learning about 3 dimensional shapes. Some vocabulary we will use: cone, sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism, cube, vertex, vertices, faces, and edges.
Science: We will be studying the moon for the next two weeks. We will do a variety of moon activities and projects!
Have a nice three day weekend. See you Tuesday! :)
