Hello All, I hope you are having a great week! We were busy bees this week and got a lot of work done! In reading we learned all about different animal groups. In math we did review centers and focused on 2-D shapes, missing addend, time to the hour and half hour, and addition/subtraction. I think the kids enjoyed working with hands on manipulatives, and it was great practice! Please remember we do not have school Monday, January 18th, in observance of MLK. Reading: We will be reading the story, Let's Go To The Moon. We will be learning about informational text features. Our phonics skill will be long vowel o. Writing: We will be integrating Social Studies and Writing this week! We will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and will be completing a writing project. Math: We will be learning about 3 dimensional shapes. Some vocabulary we will use: cone, sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism, cube, vertex, vertices, faces, and edges. Science: We will be studying the moon for the next two weeks. We will do a variety of moon activities and projects! Have a nice three day weekend. See you Tuesday! :) -Miss Turco
