Hello!
Get ready for a very busy week ahead! On Tuesday we have our field trip to the Musical Instrument Museum, I can't wait! Please remember to send your child to school with a sack lunch that day, we will be eating at Scudder Park. If this is an issue please let me know. On Wednesday (2/11) we are having math/fitness night here at Rover! I hope you can join us to learn all about how math instruction is implemented in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We will end the week on Friday with a Valentine's Day celebration. It will be a very busy, but very fun week! Next Week Reading: We will be reading Amazing Animals next week! Our phonics skill will be double final consonants. Example: -ss, -zz, -ll, -ff. Our focus skill will be learning the parts of an Informational Text. We will learn about the Table of Contents, Glossary, Bold Words, Labels, Diagrams, and Captions. Math: We will continue to work on double digit addition. We will review adding groups of ten, and then will add double digits with out regrouping. Writing: Next week the students will start an animal report. They will pick an animal from our story of the week and will use a thinking map to organize facts and information. They will use that to write a paragraph about that animal. Grammar: We will continue to work on subject pronouns, as well as the pronouns I and me. Science: Since we have an animal theme going for the next two weeks, in science we will be learning about animal hibernation. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! -Miss Turco Reminders **February 9th- Progress Reports will be sent out **Feb. 10th- Field Trip to the MIM **February 11th- Math/Fitness Night **February 13th- Valentines Day Celebration **February 13th- Father/Daughter Dance
