I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! I enjoyed spending time with friends and catching up on some sleep! I can't believe we only have a few weeks left until Fall Break! I created an online sign up for you to schedule your parent/teacher conference with me. Please follow the link below for the times and dates available. I am excited to meet and discuss your child's progress so far this year!
This week we wrapped up our science unit on the four seasons by creating an art project! They turned out pretty cute and we had lots of fun doing it! Here are some photos!
Reading: We will be reading the story Lucia's Neighborhood and focusing on informational text features. Our phonics skill will be short vowel e.
Math: In math next week we are going to finish up fact families. After that, we will begin a unit on graphing. We will learn all about tally marks, collecting data, pictographs or picture graphs, and bar graphs.
Writing: We will be using all the information we learned about the four seasons to write an opinion narrative about our favorite season.
Social Studies: Next week we will start a unit on maps. We will start with an activity called "Me on the Map" that helps students understand their place in the world.
**We are going on a field trip to the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) on November 4th! Chaperones needed! Please email me if you are able to attend. Make sure you have your fingerprint clearance card and are cleared through the district. If you have any questions click on this link for more information!
**Please sign up for your conference the week of September 28th-October 1st.
Have a great weekend,
