It has been amazing to watch these kids learn and grow. They are ready for second grade! Our year ended with each student sharing their fabulous Ancient Egypt Reports. They were so proud of their hard work, and I loved hearing all the facts they had to share. We also had our big end of the year Dancing Diane performance! Again, the kids worked so hard practicing to prepare for our show, and they did an amazing job! Have a wonderful summer... I hope to see you at Rover next year!
-Miss Turco :) Hello All! We have had a fun filled, busy week! I can't believe there are only two more weeks left of this school year. We have been making the most of our time together! This week we had a blast at Field Day. The kids enjoyed having fun in the sun. They especially loved cooling down and getting soaked at the water stations. Here are some pictures of our day! We also had two special visitors this week. Rover parents Mr. and Mrs. Finch came to work with first grade. Mrs. Finch owns a dance studio in Tempe and worked with our students doing Movement and Math. Mr. Finch is a veterinarian and he told our first graders all about his job. Here are some pictures from those two events. What an awesome week! I enjoyed seeing so many of you at the Spring Fling last night! I hope you all had a blast, I know us first grade teachers did! See you this Thursday, May 12th 8:30-9:30 for our end of the year performance!

-Miss Turco :) Hello, Wow, what an amazing 3rd quarter! Thank you to all who joined me for parent/teacher conferences, I enjoyed telling you all the amazing things your child has been working on. I am ready to have a great 4th quarter, I can't believe we almost have 2nd graders on our hands! On March 18th Rover will be having an Art Walk. Students artwork will be displayed around the school and some classes create chairs to auction off. If anyone has an old chair or is able to get a chair from Goodwill, let me know! We will be able to spruce it up the week after Spring Break. I will keep my eyes open for one as well! Last week we researched butterflies and wrote a Butterfly Report. We did some amazing symmetrical art to go along with it, everyone worked so hard and was super proud of themselves! This week we celebrated Read Across America! We wore green for Dr. Seuss' birthday! We also had twin day! Then we dressed like what we want to be when we grow up! Some sweet bakers... Lots of teachers! :) A veterinarian and a doctor... A lawyer and a scientist... A Disney princess, army man, and farmer... And last, some athletes! Our futures are bright! We ended Read Across America by wearing hats for hat day! So impressed by the school spirit this week! I hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break and enjoy your time off school. Come back ready to take on the end of the year! Thanks for making this year rock so far!
