I have one important thing to mention this week! We are approaching Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences. This time around all teachers at Rover are using a new system to have parents sign up for their conference. Please follow the link below, you will click the date and time that works best for you. Each teacher will be using this website so hopefully that makes it easier for you to sign up siblings as well!
(If the link does not work, copy and paste it into your browser!)
Please let me know if you have any questions about this! Conferences will be held March 2nd- March 5th. It will be first come first serve for signing up so if you are seeing this now take advantage! I will be sending out a hard copy with information on Monday!
Reading: We will be reading Whistle For Willie. Our phonics skill will be vowel digraph oo. Our focus skill will be cause and effect relationships.
Math: In math next week we will work on counting patterns (Counting my 5s, 10s, and counting backward by 10s), addition strategies, and missing addend. We will be doing some projects to practice these skills and working in centers again this week. Now that third quarter is coming to an end I am really trying to meet the mathematical needs of each student. Setting up centers gives me the chance to work with each student individually, while students are getting hands on practice.
Writing: We will be using a photograph to write descriptive adjectives. We will then turn this into a descriptive story about the photograph.
Grammar: We will continue to work on pronouns. We are working to understand possessive and subject pronouns.
Social Studies: We will begin a unit on United States symbols.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I just HAVE to throw this photograph in of Davis and Leonardo! Davis was Student of the Week this week, and he brought Leo back in style! :)
